Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description of the Role:

The Accounts Receivable Clerk at Berglund Automotive in Roanoke, Virginia will be responsible for handling all aspects of accounts receivable, including processing and reconciling incoming payments, resolving payment discrepancies, and handling customer inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
• Reconcile uncollected daily cash sales.
• Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from other departments and customers.
• Resolves any unidentified balances on customer accounts.
• Reconciles valid and authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
• Resolves collections by examining payment history, credit lines, and coordinating contact with the Controllers and/or Business Managers.
• Calls customers for follow up and collections.
• Follows up on management inquiries.
• Coordinates with department managers to assure all documents are accurate and received in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Team player.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Dealership accounting experience is a plus.
• Solid computer skills (Accounting software and Microsoft Excel).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
