TITLE: Food Service Kitchen Lead
LOCATION: Bennett School District Food Services Department
REPORTS TO: Director of Food Services
SUMMARY:
Bennett School District seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our Food Nutrition Services team as a Kitchen Lead. This part-time position involves overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality meals, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to promoting health and nutrition within our school community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a kitchen leadership role or food service environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, including meal preparation and service.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
- Address any issues or concerns that arise during kitchen operations promptly and professionally.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen processes.

SALARY: Starting at $20.00/hour, Negotiable based on experience.
