All About the Role
As a Facilities Technician III, you are a skilled trades professional who helps ensure the park’s buildings, attractions, and guest areas remain safe, functional, and inviting. You’ll take on higher-level repairs, advanced diagnostics, and project work that supports both daily operations and the long-term integrity of our century-old property.
This role requires strong technical knowledge across multiple trades, the ability to troubleshoot complex systems, and a proactive approach to preventing downtime. You will also support team development and collaborate across departments to keep park operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing
Advanced Technical Maintenance

Perform complex installation, troubleshooting, rehabilitation, and repair work on HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems throughout the park.

Diagnose and repair commercial food service equipment with accuracy and adherence to industry best practices.

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair lighting, power distribution, and general electrical systems.

Conduct advanced maintenance and diagnostics on generators, compressors, blowers, fans, pumps, and motors.

Identify root causes of system failures and recommend long-term solutions that improve performance and reduce downtime.
Carpentry & Structural Repair

Lead or support complex carpentry, construction, and structural repair projects.

Complete major repairs or enhancements to buildings, roofs, fences, gates, walls, drains, floors, doors, stairs, and fixtures.

Assist with project planning, material selection, and coordination with other trades as needed.
Safety & Emergency Response

Participate in and help guide emergency response procedures including floods, windstorms, utility disruptions, earthquakes, and chemical or hazardous material incidents.

Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and hazardous material handling procedures.

Promote and maintain a safe, organized, hazard-free work environment.
Inventory & Work Order Management

Monitor inventory levels and identify long-lead or critical replacement parts before they are needed.

Complete detailed work orders, ensuring accurate notes, diagnostics, and recommendations.

Maintain department tools, equipment, and assigned workspaces in clean, service-ready condition.
Team Support, Coordination & Guest Interaction

Collaborate with other departments to support park operations and resolve technical issues quickly and professionally.

Provide mentorship and on-the-job guidance for lower-level Facilities Technicians.

Demonstrate professionalism and guest-focused service while working in public areas.

Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, or work on feet up to 8 hours per day.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently; heavier lifts require assistance or mechanical support.
- Frequent handling, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Must safely perform physically demanding tasks including working at heights exceeding 70 feet.
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, humidity, and temperature changes.
- Occasional work in confined spaces or environments with vibrations, fumes, dust, mists, gases, or chemicals.
- Regular use of PPE including eye, hearing, head, hand, leg, foot, and body protection.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 4+ years of progressively responsible facilities maintenance or skilled trade experience required (or equivalent).
- Advanced working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities with an emphasis on system reliability and safety.
- Ability to lead small tasks, provide guidance to junior techs, and work independently on complex assignments.
- Strong communication skills—able to document work clearly and interact professionally with guests and team members.
- Effective time management with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing operational needs.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Commitment to Belmont Park’s safety culture, values, and high standards of operational excellence.
Will be required to work various shifts as project and park needs dictate, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
