What You’ll Do:

As a BA or MA level Intern, you will see firsthand the intersection of macro-level policy with direct care by supporting community health improvement, addressing healthcare disparities, promoting social justice initiatives, and identifying process improvements within our system. You will have the opportunity to build and strengthen professional skills in research, analysis, writing, organization, and interpersonal communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data and prepare reports or datasets to support policy development and/or community needs assessments
  • Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of social justice initiatives at BHN
  • Regularly coordinate with other stakeholders to communicate findings and engage in collaborative decision making.
  • Participate in staff meetings, committees, grant writing opportunities, and provide logistical support for the Social Justice team and other stakeholders

What You’ll Bring:

  • Enrollment in BA or MA-level program (preferred fields of study – public health, macro social work, social policy, community organizing, or race and ethnic studies)
  • Experience with policy writing, grant writing, or data analysis
  • Familiarity with PC/Windows computers, Microsoft Office programs, and email systems (required)
  • Strong interest in public health, health equity
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about behavioral health and substance use disorders and the impacts faced by communities served.
