About the Role
Amity International School, Gurugram is seeking a compassionate, proactive, and experienced
Behavioral Counsellor to support the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students in the Primary Wing. The ideal candidate should be skilled in identifying behavioral concerns, implementing intervention strategies, and collaborating closely with teachers and parents to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Observe, assess, and support students with behavioral, emotional, and social challenges.
Conduct individual and group counselling sessions for primary school students.
Develop and implement behavior intervention plans tailored to students' needs.
Collaborate with teachers to address classroom behavioral concerns and recommend effective management strategies.
Work closely with parents to provide guidance, counselling, and regular progress updates.
Conduct behavioral assessments and maintain confidential student records and reports.
Organize workshops and awareness sessions for students, teachers, and parents on emotional well-being, positive behavior, and social-emotional learning.
Identify students requiring additional psychological support and coordinate referrals to external professionals when necessary.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment aligned with child protection and well-being policies.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to student support plans.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Master's Degree in Psychology (Clinical, Counselling, or Applied Psychology preferred).
2–5 years of relevant experience as a Behavioral Counsellor or School Counsellor.
Experience working with primary children is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of child development, behavioral management techniques, and social-emotional learning.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counselling skills.
Ability to build trust with students, parents, and faculty members.
Strong documentation, observation, and report-writing abilities.
Empathetic, patient, and committed to student well-being.
Preferred Skills
Experience in CBSE/IB/Cambridge schools will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of inclusive education practices and child safeguarding policies.
Ability to conduct workshops, training sessions, and parent engagement programmes.
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
