Financial Controller (32–40 hours per week)

Do you have an eye for detail and the ability to see the bigger picture? We’re looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in the Netherlands.

Our Dutch subsidiary, Bedrijfsfitness Nederland (BFNL), aims to get the whole of working Netherlands moving — and we’re well on our way, thanks to our enthusiastic and youthful team!

You will be part of our friendly finance team in Heerenveen, working alongside a finance director and two financial administrative colleagues.

What will you do?

You will ensure accurate and timely financial administration, reporting, and analysis. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage accounting operations (general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, tax)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards
• Optimize financial processes and systems, including future transition to AccountView and Netsuite
• Ensure accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders (e.g. auditors, regulators)
• Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and compliance procedures
• Monitor and optimize working capital, cash flow, and liquidity
• Support ad-hoc financial projects and analyses
• Support and coordinate internal and external audits
• Contribute to finance-related development projects (e.g. Netsuite implementation)
• Supervise colleagues and serve as a sparring partner for the Finance Director

What You Bring

• At least 4 years of experience in financial control
• Completed at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics, Accountancy, or similar
• Excellent knowledge of financial software and Excel
• Experience with Netsuite is a plus
• Strong analytical and accuracy skills
• Proactive, independent, and hands-on mentality
• Good communication skills in Dutch and English
• Team player mindset
