The Wine Sales Coordinator is passionate about wine, enjoys customer engagement, and has strong leadership and organizational skills. The Wine Sales Coordinator will not only sell wine at our garden center and off-site events but will also oversee sales associates, coordinate events, manage online sales, and collaborate with the owner and marketing team to drive sales growth.
Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Provide an exceptional customer experience by educating guests on our wines, including tasting notes, food pairings, and production methods.
- Conduct wine tastings and drive sales at our garden center and off-site events.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
- Set up and maintain an inviting and organized wine display at the garden center and events.
Team Leadership & Training
- Oversee and schedule wine sales associates to ensure proper staffing coverage and RAMP certification.
- Train and mentor sales associates on product knowledge, customer service, and sales techniques.
- Lead by example to foster a positive and motivated sales environment.
Event Planning & Logistics
- Plan and execute wine events both at the garden center and off-site, including logistics, staffing, and promotion.
- Load, transport, and set up wine and promotional materials at off-site events using the company van.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements for wine sales and tastings at all events.
Sales Strategy & Online Sales
- Manage online wine sales and in-store pickups, ensuring accurate inventory and seamless customer experience.
- Work with the owner and marketing team to develop sales strategies, promotions, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Track and report sales performance, ensuring goals are met and exceeded.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Skills

- Passion for wine and a strong understanding of wine sales and customer engagement.
- Previous experience in wine sales, retail, hospitality, or event planning.
- Leadership experience with the ability to train and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and events.
- Advanced computer skills and point of sale experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must have flexibility in scheduling and be available to work weekends and evenings.
Physical & Cognitive Demands
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to lift and carry wine cases (approximately 40 lbs).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive the company van to off-site events.
