Position Summary:

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of nutritious meals and snacks for children in our full-day program, following planned menus and

maintaining a safe, well-run kitchen.

What you'll do:

Prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals and snacks daily for enrolled children
Accommodate children with restricted diets with care and creativity
Plan weekly menus in collaboration with our contracted nutritionist, meeting CCFP meal pattern requirements
Purchase food and supplies and maintain accurate records for the Child Care Food Program
Jump into the classroom to support teachers and interact with children when needed
Maintains verification of food and non-food purchases to meet CCFP (Child Care Food Program) requirements.
In collaboration with the Contracted Nutritionist, develops weekly menus to meet CCFP meal pattern requirements.
Maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen, pantry and storage areas.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimally 2 years cooking experience , institutional, school or childcare settings with children under 3 years of age.
A high school diploma or equivalent required
Drivers License and reliable transportation (may serve multiple locations

Preferred Qualifications:

3-12 units in Early Childhood Development or enrolled in school.
Food Handlers Permit
Bilingual English/Spanish
