Role Overview – Business Development Manager (Cross Border)
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding DTDC’s cross-border eCommerce export business by acquiring and growing relationships with export-focused sellers and online merchants. The role will focus on enabling Indian sellers to ship internationally through DTDC’s global logistics network and partner ecosystem, driving shipment growth across key export corridors. The incumbent will work closely with regional sales teams, channel partners, and operations teams to identify high-potential seller clusters, onboard exporters, and ensure seamless international shipping experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
- New Seller Acquisition: Identify and acquire export-oriented sellers, D2C brands and marketplace merchants looking to ship internationally. Build a strong pipeline of exporters and convert them into active shipping customers.
- Business Growth: Drive growth in international parcel volumes and export revenues by expanding wallet share within the existing seller portfolio and enabling customers to scale their global sales.
- Customer Retention & Service Excellence: Act as the primary relationship manager for assigned sellers, ensuring smooth shipment execution, resolving operational issues, and maintaining strong engagement with customers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with operations, international partners, product teams, and regional leadership to improve service delivery, resolve shipment issues, and enhance the exporter experience.
- Customer Engagement & Enablement: Conduct seller meets, webinars, and training sessions to educate merchants on cross-border selling opportunities, international logistics processes, and DTDC shipping solutions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- New Account Acquisition: number of Accounts onboarded.
- Sales Target Achievement: 100% or more of assigned monthly/quarterly sales target.
- Complaint Resolution TAT: Resolve complaints within 24–48 hours.
- Customer Retention Rate: Maintain required retention rate across portfolio.
- Active Seller Ratio: Percentage of onboarded sellers generating regular shipments.
Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in Business Development or Sales, preferably in logistics, eCommerce, freight forwarding, or international shipping.
- Exposure to cross-border logistics, export shipping, or eCommerce marketplaces is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, CRM tools, and basic data analysis.
