Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Business Development Manager (BDM) at Penta Freight, located in Chennai, India. The BDM will focus on identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and developing strategies to drive revenue growth. Responsibilities include market research, lead generation, preparing effective sales proposals, and negotiating contracts. The BDM will collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored freight forwarding solutions and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Regular reporting and analysis of sales metrics will also be required to meet business objectives.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Business Development, Strategic Planning, and Sales Management
- Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding, logistics operations, and supply chain management
- Excellent communication, client relationship management, and negotiation skills
- Ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience in working with airlines or in logistics operations would be advantageous
- Certifications such as FIATA, IATA, or related credentials are highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Willingness to work on-site in Chennai and travel as required for business purposes
