Role Summary
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and results-driven Business Development professional specializing in Reference Listed Drugs (RLD). In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth by securing new clinical trial supply partnerships, managing global pharmaceutical sourcing networks, and identifying strategic opportunities for RLD procurement. The ideal candidate will possess deep domain knowledge of global RLD/Innovator sample markets, comparator sourcing strategies, and the regulatory frameworks governing international pharmaceutical trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition & Revenue Growth: Identify, pitch, and secure new business opportunities with Global CROs, CDMOs, Generic Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, and Clinical Trial Sponsors requiring RLDs, Innovator Samples, and Comparators.
- Strategic Sourcing & Network Expansion: Build and maintain strong relationships with global pharmaceutical distributors, wholesalers, and manufacturers to ensure a reliable pipeline for hard-to-source APIs and RLDs.
- End-to-End Deal Management: Manage the complete sales cycle, from initial inquiry and technical feasibility assessment to commercial negotiation, custom clearance documentation oversight, and final delivery.
- Market Intelligence: Track global regulatory shifts (FDA, EMA, MHRA) regarding biosimilar development, generic filings, and comparator sourcing requirements to proactively identify emerging market demands.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Logistics/Supply Chain teams to guarantee full compliance with cold-chain mandates, GDP (Good Distribution Practices), and strict chain-of-custody protocols.
ey Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field. An MBA in International Business or Marketing is highly preferred.
- Experience: 5 to 8+ years of proven business development or strategic sourcing experience explicitly within the RLD, Comparator Sourcing, or API procurement space.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of clinical trial supply chains, biosimilar/generic drug development timelines, and global import/export regulatory requirements (e.g., Narcotics, Controlled Substances, Cold-Chain logistics).
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, negotiating complex commercial contracts, and managing high-value international accounts.
- Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation skills; analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends and build robust pipeline forecasts.
