Java Developer

BCforward is currently seeking a Java Developer for an opportunity in Cincinnati, OH! Position Title: Java Developer Location: Cincinnati, OH Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: Initially 6 Months of contract Job Type: Contract- On-site Pay Range: $70/hour to $75/hour Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). Responsibilities: Leads the discovery phase of medium to large scale projects to come up with high level design. Designs and implements low latency services. Write quality backend code primarily in Java, Spring and Hibernate. Leads and participates in end-to-end service implementations, data feeds ingestion, and orchestration. Partner with various departments for specifications, use cases, iterations, testing, training and client feedback implementation. Develops innovative strategies, processes, and best practices. Troubleshoots business and production issues. Leads the work of other small group engineers for assigned Engineering projects. Conduct code review and set standards for development team. Mentoring and guiding team members. Good communication skills with ability to have client interactions Primary skills: Java, SpringBoot, MicroServices, AKS, Containerization Event Driven architecture knowledge Streaming Platform (Kafka) experience Observability & Monitoring implementation Experience in Dockers and Kubernetes Preferred skills: IaC (Infrastructure as a Code) knowledge Retail- Self checkout knowledge
