About the role

Summary:

Through the leadership of the BH Director of Clinical Pharmacy Programs, this Baystate Health leadership position is primarily responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the Clinical Pharmacy Program and Services for the Acute Care Pharmacy Department.  This includes direct oversight of the Transitions of Care Program and the Acute Care Clinical Pharmacy Program. This oversight shall include the development of pharmacy services that are aligned with organizational goals and the advancement of services to support a cost-effective service model.

The Pharmacy Clinical Manager will have oversight for all the Care Team and Specialist Model at Baystate Medical Center.  This position will lead and serve on appropriate committees as necessary to coordinate and maintain the clinical pharmacy services.  The manager is expected to work with the leadership team to develop goals that are aligned with departmental, service line and organizational strategy.  The Pharmacy Clinical Manager will coordinate activities with our learner models and the Pharmacy Manager of Education and Training.

The Pharmacy Clinical Manager will work regularly with front-line staff to develop structures to support the clinical and operational programs in the Pharmacy Department.  Will collaborate regularly with the Pharmacy Leadership Team and will focus on the development of service and staffing models that are supported by Pharmacy Operations Leadership.

Performs other pharmacist, leadership, and administrative duties as assigned; this includes on-call, inpatient pharmacy staffing (when necessary), special projects, and regulatory oversight (DPH, Board of Pharmacy, TJC).  Conducts staff meetings, attends appropriate hospital committees, and is able to react to (and embrace) change. Adheres to system and department compliance policies, and any and all applicable laws and regulations.

2) Clinical Pharmacy Program Oversight:
Leads the planning, development, and implementation of staffing and service models that advance the practice of pharmacy and the care of our patients at Baystate while working to do so at an affordable cost. Ensures staff engagement in the planning processes and, collaborates regularly and communicates frequently with Pharmacy Leadership.

3) Transitions of Care Program Oversight:
Leads and supervises the staff in programs associated with transitions of care, including medication history.  Devotes the necessary time to ensure staff are performing consistently in their roles and that the service is optimized. Coordinates with other pharmacy leaders on staff scheduling and works with the customers to ensure a high level of service and productivity.

4) Practice Leadership:
Promotes advancement of care within the department.  This may include, but is not limited to, service on and leadership of various committees related to their practice. This also includes mentorship of other pharmacy staff.

Preferred Education:

Post-Grad training or equivalent experience

Minimally Required Experience:

3 years leadership

5 years of preceptor/educator experience

Undergraduate and Graduate Education Requirements and Accreditation Standards
Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Knowledge of computer systems (i.e., Microsoft applications, Clinical Information Systems, Kronos, Workday, StaffReady, PharmAcademic)

Doctorate (Required)

Compensation

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum

$144,081.00 - $165,609.00 - $195,915.00
