About the role

Description

We are looking for a driver to work primarily on Wednesdays, Fridays, and 1 weekend per month.  Drivers are responsible for transporting residents to and from destinations throughout the greater Cincinnati area by bus.  

  1. Adheres to the schedule to transport assigned passengers to and from destination on time in accordance with established policies and traffic laws.
  2. Demonstrates safe and efficient driving skills, and is courteous and cooperative.
  3. Delivers all requested items/passengers to appropriate destination.
  4. Reviews schedule and required safety checks prior to departure.
  5. Completes and returns all required trip documentation in a timely manner.
  6. Demonstrates professionalism, supports administration, maintains confidentiality, and adheres to Mission and Philosophy of the Bayley.
  7. Ability to drive all assigned transportation vehicles, operate lift, and properly secure residents and accompanying equipment for transport.
  8. Responsible for maintaining vehicle in a clean, orderly fashion. 
  9. Must report any observed mechanical problems immediately.
  10. Attends mandatory-inservices annually.
  11. Performs other duties as requested/required.


Requirements

Educational Attainment • High School diploma or GED required.

     

Licensure/Certification • Valid driver's license.

  • Fewer than six points for traffic violations at any time. • Commercial Drivers License preferred but not required

Specialized Knowledge/Skills • Compliance with training requirements of OAC 173-39-20.

  • Compliance with DOT Fitness Determination including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to safely operate cars, vans, and buses in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and vehicle safety equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of area roads and ability to read road maps.
  • Ability to adjust routes in response to traffic or weather conditions.
  • Ability to interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Professional in appearance and behavior.

     

Kind & Length of Experience • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Minimum two years driving experience.
