POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the position assists in the completion of the daily scheduled and unscheduled groundskeeping of the Bay Mills Health Center and all locations. Receives written work orders or verbal instruction to perform various duties to maintain the grounds using a variety of machines, tools, and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The position may perform but is not limited to any of the following duties:
q Raking leaves, grass, and debris;
q Weeding;
q Push mowing;
q Use of riding mower;
q Weed whipping;
q Hauling and clearing brush;
q Washing windows on the outside;
q Sweep driveways and parking lots;
q Bringing recycling to Public Works recycling
q Car cleaning (interior and exterior) and equipment (mowers)
q Minor housekeeping duties when needed
q Picking up trash outside
q Other general groundskeeping related duties.
- The position is responsible for wearing all provided safety equipment and abiding by all safety instructions for use of equipment.
- Responsible for reporting to work on time and ready for work.
- Responsible for starting shift in clean and proper work attire.
- Responsible for learning and following the daily policies and procedures for Bay Mills Health Center.
- Must attend any and all mandatory trainings offered through the Bay Mills Human Resources Training Department and/or Department Directing.
- Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position’s essential functions.
Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, push, crouch, and carry weights of up to 50 pounds. The employee is exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to heights, moving machinery, driving equipment, marked changes in temperature and humidity, dust, and fumes.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be at least 16 years old.
2. Preferred prior experience working on groundskeeping.
3. Preference will be given to those applicants with prior maintenance experience.
4. Must be able to demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently on projects.
5. Must have demonstrated the ability to get along with fellow co-workers.
6. Must possess a friendly, out-going, and cooperative personality.
7. Must have a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
8. Must possess positive attitude towards patients and fellow employees at all times.
9. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories of this position description.
