About the role
As a Software Systems Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of software engineers responsible for the development, integration, and validation of infusion software systems. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the delivery of innovative software solutions that enable Baxter's connected infusion systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead a team of software engineers and ensure high-quality software delivery
- Partner with product management, clinical, and quality teams to define software requirements and roadmaps
- Mentor and develop the technical and leadership skills of your team members
- Implement best practices in software engineering, continuous integration, and testing
- Represent the software team and collaborate with other engineering disciplines
- Drive process improvements and enhance software development practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in a leadership role
- Expertise in leading the development of complex, mission-critical embedded software systems
- Strong background in software architecture, design patterns, and object-oriented programming
- Proficient in C/C++, Python, and other modern programming languages
- Familiarity with medical device software development and regulatory requirements is preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
