BRGMC is seeking compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to join our inpatient behavioral health unit. As an essential part of the care team, you’ll provide direct patient support, help maintain a therapeutic environment and play a key role in the healing process for individuals facing mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist patients with daily living activities and personal care
· Support patients in managing emotions and behaviors safely
· Observe, document, and report patient behaviors and progress
· Facilitate or assist with therapeutic activities and group sessions
· Respond to crisis situations using verbal de-escalation and safety protocols
· Collaborate with nurses, social workers, and clinicians to ensure quality care
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or mental health training preferred
· Prior experience in behavioral health, residential care, or related field is a plus
· Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively with a diverse population
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-focused inpatient environment
· CPR and MOAB certification preferred or willing to obtain
