Job Title: Basketball Coach Location: Bangalore Institution Type: International School Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Basketball Coach to lead and develop our school?s basketball program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coaching students across different age groups, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness, while representing the school in inter-school competitions. Key Responsibilities: Plan and conduct structured basketball training sessions for students. Develop age-appropriate coaching strategies and skill-building drills. Identify and nurture talented students for competitive events. Organize and supervise inter-house and inter-school matches and tournaments. Promote teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students. Ensure student safety during practice sessions and games. Maintain and manage sports equipment and facilities. Collaborate with PE staff and school leadership for sports calendar planning. Track student progress and provide constructive feedback. Encourage participation in basketball as part of overall student development. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor?s Degree with Basketball as a specialization OR certification from NIS (Basketball) Minimum 1 year of experience in school teaching/coaching Strong knowledge of basketball techniques, rules, and training methodologies Experience coaching children in a school or academy setting preferred Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate and engage students of varying skill levels Preferred Skills: Experience in international school settings Exposure to organizing tournaments and sports events Basic first-aid knowledge or certification Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment Key Competencies: Leadership and team management Student engagement and mentorship Discipline and time management Passion for sports and youth development
