The Role We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Bioinformatics Engineer to bridge the gap between our bioinformatics and software development teams. In this critical role, you will be responsible for translating complex bioinformatics requirements into robust, scalable, and cloud-optimized software solutions. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with our software infrastructure, and leveraging cloud computing platforms for efficient data processing and analysis. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for various applications, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metagenomics. Collaborate closely with software engineers to integrate bioinformatics pipelines into existing software platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Develop and maintain APIs and data interfaces for seamless data exchange between bioinformatics tools and software applications. Utilize cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) to deploy and manage bioinformatics pipelines and data storage, optimize for cost-effectiveness and performance. Requirements What are we looking for: 3+ years of experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field Proficiency in shell and programming languages such as Python and R. Strong understanding of bioinformatics pipelines and workflows. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with workflow management systems (eg. Nextflow, snakemake). Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
