Job Summary:
Under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian, incumbents work toward obtaining licensure and registration while practicing and applying the Nutrition Care Process, including completion of the nutrition assessments, determination of the nutrition diagnosis, development and implementation of nutrition interventions and monitoring and evaluation of the patient’s progress. Under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian, this position is also responsible for care planning, educating and counseling patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Additionally, this position provides: accurate, effective and evidence-based nutrition information to all customers, nutrition expertise as part of a multidisciplinary team, and communication between dietary and nursing departments and the patient. This position performs duties in compliance with all pertinent regulatory standards and agencies.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
Experience: None
License(s): Licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Alaska within 90 days of hire AND Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist within 90 days of hire.
Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider CPR within 60 days of hire.
Note: Positions are flexibly staffed. Once an incumbent obtains licensure and registration, they become eligible and must advance to the journey professional Dietitian level. Incumbents who fail to obtain licensure, registration, and required certifications within the timeframes may be separated from employment.
