Host Club Barona

OBJECTIVE:

To increase the loyalty of existing players, develop the next generation of players, and sustain our competitive advantage by building upon our reputation for delivering world class guest service.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Standing or walking for eight hours in a casino smoking environment, often under stressful conditions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:        

1. Always be NICE to fellow staff and players; find every opportunity to offer a friendly smile, wave and greeting.
2. Builds relationships with Platinum players to increase their loyalty to Barona and aspiration to maintain or improve their card status.
3. Actively develops and maintains a positive relationship with all players.
4. Consistently carries an appropriate stage presence; this includes a happy expression, professional body language, adherence to the Barona Look, and a demeanor that conveys friendliness and approachability.
5. Ensures confidentiality of player account information and casino operations.
6. Always provides excellent internal and external guest service and displays the Barona WRAP. Maintains positive “team player” attitude.
7. Represents the casino in a positive, professional manner; upholds high standards of grooming and appearance.
8. Engages coworkers and players in a positive and upbeat manner; makes eye contact and smiles at all times.
9. Communicates clearly and effectively with players and staff.

10.  Inputs and updates member application information into computer database, while ensuring the highest level of data integrity.

11.  Increases player’s awareness, participation, and utilization of the Club Barona card and casino promotions by actively soliciting players on the casino floor.

1. Generates excitement and enthusiasm while assisting with all promotions and events; issues vouchers and entries, and checks-in players for promotions and events
2. Issues Club Barona merchandise, complimentaries (comps), and free play offers while abiding by the set variance policies for coupon issuance, comp issuance and inventory control
3. Balances shift inventory and informs the manager of any discrepancies
4. Protects Tribal assets through effective management of comps in alignment with the Comp Services policies and procedures and Comping with Confidence training.
5. Readily available to assist staff members of any department with player conflicts using good judgment and empathy.
6. Maintains needed supplies at the workstation and ensures that workstations are always clean and free of clutter.
7. Issues complimentaries up to $1000 to players on the floor and at the booths
8. Utilizes myCONNECT software on departmentally issued iPads to find and approach players playing on the casino floor in order to make a personal connection with them.
9. Maintains satisfactory secret shopping results.
10. Accurately informs interested players about hotel amenities and stay requirements, and assists with the booking of hotel reservations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Organizational and oral and written skills essential
• Ability to perform detailed work in a fast paced environment
• Professional appearance
• Ability to approach high limit players
• Possess good judgment and decision-making skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to pass typing speed and accuracy test
• Ability to pass Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency test

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:       

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 24 months’ experience in casino hosting preferred
• Level 2 or equivalent experience
