Role Description The Barista Chef is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee-based drinks and café specialties, while maintaining high quality and presentation standards. Day-to-day tasks include operating coffee machines, grinding and brewing coffee, steaming milk, preparing syrups and garnishes, and ensuring consistent recipes and portion sizes. The role also involves taking customer orders, answering questions about menu items, handling payments, and providing friendly, efficient service at the counter and café floor. The Barista Chef maintains a clean and organized workstation, supports opening and closing procedures, and follows food safety and hygiene guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lucknow, requiring regular coordination with the café team to deliver a smooth guest experience.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong beverage preparation skills, including espresso-based drink making, milk steaming, and basic knowledge of coffee brewing methods.
- Candidates should possess customer service skills, such as clear communication, active listening, and a courteous, guest-focused approach.
- Candidates should possess operational skills, including cash handling, POS system use, and the ability to follow recipes and standard operating procedures.
- Candidates should possess organizational and hygiene skills, such as maintaining a clean workstation, managing time effectively, and adhering to food safety standards.
- Previous experience as a barista, café staff member, or in a similar hospitality role is preferred; basic English and local language communication skills are beneficial.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate positively with team members is required.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and peak hours, and a strong interest in coffee, café culture, and learning new recipes are advantageous.
