Company Description MITTI Café is a non-profit organization that creates inclusive livelihoods by providing employment and experiential training to adults with physical, intellectual, and psychiatric disabilities. The organization operates over 40 cafes across India in high-footfall locations such as courts, airports, corporate offices, colleges, and public institutions. Through its cafes, MITTI Café’s teams have served millions of meals and beverages while offering hands-on training, housing, and stipends to trainees before placement. Additional impact programs include community meal initiatives for economically vulnerable families and a Good Gifts platform showcasing products from marginalized communities. MITTI Café’s work has been recognized with multiple national and international awards for social impact and inclusion.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Barista role based in Bengaluru South. The Barista will prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, handle basic food preparation, and maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the café area. The role involves greeting guests, taking orders, processing payments, and ensuring a welcoming, respectful environment for all customers and team members. The Barista will follow café recipes and safety standards, restock supplies, and support opening and closing duties. The role may also include assisting with experiential training activities and supporting inclusive operations in alignment with MITTI Café’s mission.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills.
- Candidates should possess beverage and café operations skills, including Barista experience and Food Preparation abilities.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for interacting with customers, teammates, and supervisors.
- Ability to follow hygiene, safety, and quality standards in food and beverage service.
- Willingness to work in a diverse, inclusive environment and support MITTI Café’s social impact mission.
- Basic numeracy and comfort with handling cash or digital payments.
- Prior experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
