About the role

In the Research team, you'll drive the efficiency and advancement of research processes, generating valuable insights that optimise research outcomes for Barclays. Your work will support the organisation in making informed decisions and staying ahead in the industry. Join us as a "Equity Derivatives and QIS Analyst" at Barclays, where the candidate will work on the development of tactical and systematic solutions for large global institutional investors, managers, and hedge funds. This team produces research aimed to advise investors on alpha generation, efficient hedging across global equity derivatives markets.. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with Equity Derivatives and QIS Analyst, as well as job-specific skillsets. To be successful as an Equity Derivatives and QIS Analyst, you should have experience to #1- Take initiatives to improve quant libraries as maintaining high data quality is essential for research and smooth production of quantitative models. #2- Work closely with senior analysts in building research datasets for new projects. #3- Present analysis to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. #4- Own and drive timely production of quantitative scorecards, signals etc by handling model production, monitoring automation jobs investigating and escalate to Tech support in case of job failures. #5- Conduct rigorous checks as publishing erroneous data creates reputational risk for Barclays. #6- Provide guidance to developers and internal stakeholders on data related issues. #7- The candidate will be expected to have a critical eye on the established process/systems in order to question them in a positive, productive and efficient way. Some other highly valued skills include:· #1- This hands-on role requires strong analytic skills to be able to understand and support strategy implementation and tools. The role requires good judgement in dealing both with short-term and longer-term projects with direct impact on the QIS products and a strong drive to develop an in-depth understanding of equity derivatives processes. #2- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards. #3- Personal attributes essential to performing role including competencies, expertise, knowledge, and experience. #4- Financial market or academic experience of option markets/theory, with proficiency in quantitative analysis and statistics. #5- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good creativity and ability to work independently or in a team. #6- Desire to develop a career in Financial & Derivative markets. #7- This position sits within the Global Research function providing support to European Equity Derivatives Strategy and Global QIS research.
