About the role

Under the direction of the Home Equity Processing Manager, responsible for maximizing the sales opportunities for each line/loan processed.  

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for application loan processing according to established procedures and
    timelines. The loan process consists of day to day monitoring of individual assigned loan files
    by communicating with applicants, internal partners and external vendors to obtain required
    documents for the lending officer to render a final credit decision.
  • Provides high level of customer service to applicants, internal partners and vendors
    throughout the loan process. Servicing standards are set by Home Equity Processing
    Manager. Timeliness and responsiveness demonstrated via strong organizational and time
    management skills. Ability to multi-task and successfully monitor the pipeline of applications
    especially during peak production periods.
  • Obtains required collateral documentation and organizes documents as requested by the
    lending officer for file review. Contacts applicants upon receipt of information for clarification
    as needed. Follows documentation process of established procedures for ordering property
    title, property insurance and valuation documents. Reviews the following against Bank
    requirements: valuation forms, flood zoning determinations, insurance documents,
    conveyance documents, loan conditions, and other loan forms to ensure that loans are closed
    in accordance with approval terms and conditions.
  • Obtain required credit documentation and organizes all documents as requested by the
    lending officer for file review. Contact applicants upon receipt of information for further
    clarification as needed. Credit documents to include but not limited to: pay stubs, W-2s,
    personal tax returns, business tax returns, retirement documents, trust documents etc.
  • Sends out written communication regarding application status according to established Bank
    and regulatory guidelines. Communicates effectively, courteously and proactively with
    applicants and internal and external partners.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and two years post high school education, or equivalent work experience.
  • Level is dependent on years of experience and size/complexity of prior positions held.
    • Level I & II
      • Minimum 1 to 3 years of sales, real estate lending, or customer service experience
    • Level III:
      • Minimum 5 - 7 years of work experience in increasingly more responsible positions in consumer lending, with emphasis on mortgage or home equity line of credit loan processing. Able to work on more complex loan processing files with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point) or similar software.  Knowledge of or ability to use bank software.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.  Should be analytical, detail oriented, organized.  Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment with a heavy workload. Demonstrated effective and efficient team player with excellent interpersonal skills.  Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned. Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 lbs.  
  • Closely supervised by Home Equity Processing Manager
