The RoleYou'll join the Core Product Team as a Backend and Infrastructure Engineer, working alongside product leadership, AI engineers, and full-stack teammates to build the foundational systems that power AI voice agents at scale. This is more than shipping features — it's about architecting a backend foundation that lets the company scale across hundreds of healthcare providers with minimal engineering overhead.
A high-ownership role for someone with 4-5 years of experience who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to work at the intersection of engineering, healthcare, and AI.
What You'll Do- System architecture and scalability — architect and implement services with a plug-and-play model, enabling new deployments and features with minimal friction
- Infrastructure engineering — own deployment pipelines, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, service orchestration, and observability tooling
- Platform reliability — proactively monitor and debug infrastructure bottlenecks, implement fail-safes and alerts, and drive uptime improvements across services
- Collaboration with product and field pods — work closely with product leadership and field-deployed AI engineers to translate field learnings into core infrastructure improvements
- EHR and IVR integration layers — build and maintain APIs and RPA pipelines for integrations with major EHRs and telephony platforms
- Security and compliance — implement access controls, data encryption, and audit logging in line with HIPAA and SOC 2 requirements
- Deployment ops — support multi-tenant deployments, CI/CD workflows, and automated rollback mechanisms across staging and production environments
- Code quality and collaboration — maintain code quality across deployments, proactively fix bugs and review logs, document workflows, and support pod teammates with engineering best practices
Must-Haves- 4+ years of experience as a backend engineer in a production environment
- Strong command over HLD, LLD, and RESTful API development
- Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably GCP, and containerized systems like Kubernetes
- Familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL and NoSQL data structures like Firestore
- Ability to debug complex issues, write clean and modular code, and learn fast in a high-velocity team environment
Nice-to-Haves- Previous experience in healthcare or healthtech
- Experience with healthcare systems, EHRs, or API-based integrations
- Prior work involving automation, RPA bots, or data ingestion from external sources
