Job details:
A leading Digital Marketing Agency based in Toronto, Canada with 80+ professionals is looking for a highly motivated Senior Backend-Focused Full Stack Developer for the digital agency. Our website is www.almcorp.com
You will be working from home, reporting directly to the Canadian office.
We are building a multi-tenant SaaS CRM platform and are looking for a backend-focused engineer who can own features end-to-end, enforce architectural consistency, and ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability in production systems.
You will use AI tools as accelerators—but must have strong fundamentals to validate and guide them.
What you will do:
· Design and improve a multi-tenant SaaS architecture using next.js, vercel and google cloud tech stack
· Ensure strict data isolation between customers
· Build and maintain APIs and backend services
· Identify and fix performance bottlenecks
· Work with AI-assisted development (with strong validation and ownership)
· Strong backend experience (Next.js, TypeScript, C#, Java, etc.)
· Experience with SaaS or multi-tenant systems
· Understanding of authentication & authorization (JWT, RBAC)
· API design (REST / GraphQL)
· Data modeling for multi-tenant systems
· Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL or similar)
· Experience with query optimization and indexing
· Pagination / batching strategies
· Ability to troubleshoot slow or failing systems
· Automated testing (unit / integration / e2e)
· Multiple environments (dev / staging / prod)
· CI/CD pipelines
· Ability to prevent bugs, not just fix them
· Takes ownership of problems and solutions
· Thinks beyond code — understands systems
· Comfortable in a startup-style environment
Not A fit If
· You are primarily frontend-focused
· You rely on AI without understanding the output
· You have little experience with backend systems or databases
Good to Have
· Experience with Supabase, AWS, or Vercel
· Experience with Row-Level Security (RLS)
· Experience refactoring existing systems
