About the Role
We are hiring a Founding Engineer (Python) to join as an early team member and help build a category-defining AI product from the ground up. This is a high-ownership role involving close collaboration with the founders across product, engineering, and early strategic decisions.
You will play a key role in shaping the backend architecture, building core systems, and driving rapid product iterations toward product-market fit.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale backend systems for an AI-driven product
- Develop high-quality, customer-facing features with strong focus on performance and reliability
- Contribute to system architecture and foundational engineering decisions
- Work closely with founders on product direction, roadmap, and execution
- Optimize systems for scalability, latency, and maintainability
- Participate in rapid experimentation and iteration cycles typical of early-stage startups
Requirements
Must Have (Non-negotiable)
- Strong expertise in Python
- 4+ years of experience working in startup environments
- Proven experience building and shipping customer-facing products
- Strong understanding of backend systems, APIs, and scalability principles
- Based in Bengaluru
- Comfortable working in a high-commitment environment, including a 6-day work week (1 day in office)
