Job Description:
Backstage Platform Management
- Design, deploy, and maintain the Backstage developer portal
- Ensure scalability, security, performance, and reliability
- Stay updated with Backstage ecosystem and best practices
Plugin Development & Customization
- Build and enhance custom plugins using TypeScript, Node.js, and React
- Extend Backstage features to meet organizational needs
Software Catalog Management
- Manage and maintain the Backstage Software Catalog
- Automate catalog ingestion using entity providers and processors
Developer Experience & Automation
- Create Software Templates (Scaffolder) for standardized project setup
- Implement and manage TechDocs (docs-as-code)
- Enable self-service capabilities for developers
- Improve developer productivity through automation and tooling
Integration & Tooling
Integrate Backstage with:
- Cloud: AWS, GCP, Azure (Terraform)
- CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, FluxCD
- Monitoring: Dynatrace
- Source Control: GitHub, GitLab
- Auth: OIDC, OAuth2, SAML, RBAC
- Others: Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS), Helm, API Gateways
Collaboration
- Work with developers, SREs, and product teams to solve platform challenges
- Contribute to architecture discussions and design reviews
- Provide training, documentation, and user support
- Optionally contribute to the Backstage open-source community
