About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Backend Engineer specializing in Node.js, microservices, and AWS to join our expanding engineering team. This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems that support our innovative financial products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building microservices architectures, managing cloud infrastructure, and working within fast-paced, agile environments. As a key contributor, you will own significant portions of our backend infrastructure, collaborating closely with product managers, frontend developers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, event-driven systems, develop scalable APIs, and contribute to on-chain infrastructure across various blockchain networks. You will be instrumental in shaping the technical foundation of our products, ensuring robustness, efficiency, and security. Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in shipping production-grade backend systems.
- Deep expertise in Node.js, including event loop management, error handling, and developing non-trivial services.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous architectures such as message queues, pub/sub systems, worker pipelines, and patterns for retries and idempotency.
- Solid system design skills, particularly in distributed systems, understanding trade-offs between consistency and availability, and implementing observability best practices.
- Experience in designing clean and efficient APIs using REST or RPC protocols that are easy for teams to integrate with.
- Exposure to Web3 technologies, including smart contracts, RPCs, on-chain data, bridges, or decentralized finance protocols.
- Proficiency in Rust for performance-critical services, tooling, or blockchain integrations like Solana/Anchor.
- Strong fundamentals in Data Structures and Algorithms to inform real-world production decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Node.js and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Architect and implement microservices that are resilient, efficient, and secure, supporting our fintech products and blockchain integrations.
- Own end-to-end product surfaces, including scoping, architecture, deployment, and iterative improvements.
- Build event-driven backends, scalable APIs, and on-chain infrastructure across EVM and non-EVM chains to enable seamless user experiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement best practices for system observability, error handling, and performance optimization.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and documentation to maintain high engineering standards.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies in Web3, blockchain, and backend development to incorporate innovative solutions.
