About the RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled Backend & DevOps Engineer who is passionate about building scalable backend systems, designing reliable integrations, and managing cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex integration challenges while also owning the deployment, monitoring, and reliability of production systems.
You will work closely with product, frontend, and customer implementation teams to integrate with a wide range of third-party ERP, CRM, accounting, and enterprise platforms while ensuring our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and highly available.
Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Development- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js.
- Build secure RESTful APIs and event-driven services.
- Design and optimize database schemas and queries for both SQL and MongoDB.
- Develop highly reliable and maintainable backend architectures.
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code following engineering best practices.
Integrations- Design and implement integrations with third-party platforms, including ERP, CRM, accounting, payment, logistics, and other enterprise systems.
- Build reliable data synchronization and transformation pipelines.
- Develop webhook-based, polling, and event-driven integrations.
- Troubleshoot integration issues across distributed systems.
- Work with authentication mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, SAML, and custom authentication methods.
- Create reusable integration frameworks and middleware components.
Messaging & Event Streaming- Design and maintain event-driven architectures using:
- Apache Kafka
- RabbitMQ
- ActiveMQ
- Build resilient producers and consumers.
- Handle retries, dead-letter queues, ordering, and message reliability.
- Optimize message throughput and system performance.
DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS.
- Manage production, staging, and development environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor application health, infrastructure performance, and system reliability.
- Implement infrastructure as code and automate deployments.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backups, and security best practices.
- Optimize cloud costs without compromising reliability.
Required SkillsBackend- Strong experience with Node.js (5+ years preferred)
- Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience building scalable REST APIs and microservices
- Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming and event-driven systems
Databases- MongoDB
- SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server)
- Database optimization and query performance tuning
Messaging TechnologiesHands-on experience with:
- Apache Kafka
- RabbitMQ
- ActiveMQ
Integration Experience- Extensive experience integrating with third-party APIs
- REST, SOAP, GraphQL, Webhooks
- OAuth, JWT, API authentication
- Data mapping and transformation
- Error handling and retry mechanisms
- API versioning
- Enterprise integration patterns
AWS & DevOpsStrong practical experience with AWS services such as:
- EC2
- ECS/EKS
- Lambda
- API Gateway
- VPC
- IAM
- CloudWatch
- CloudFront
- Route 53
- S3
- RDS
- ElastiCache
- Secrets Manager
- Systems Manager (SSM)
Additional DevOps experience:
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Nginx
- Linux administration
- GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
- Monitoring and logging tools
- Security best practices
- Performance tuning
Nice to Have- Experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with IoT integrations
- Knowledge of SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar enterprise platforms
- Experience with Redis
- Experience building SaaS products
- Understanding of distributed systems and high-availability architectures
