About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer specializing in Node.js, NestJS, and MongoDB to join our growing team at Talentgigs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend services that support our innovative digital solutions. This role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in building scalable microservices architectures, optimizing database schemas, and ensuring the security and performance of our backend systems. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, designers, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3+ years of experience in backend development with a proven track record working with Node.js and JavaScript. Strong expertise in the NestJS framework and MongoDB is essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of microservices architecture, API development, and best practices for system security, including authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT and OAuth. Proficiency with version control tools like Git, along with good problem-solving and analytical skills, is required. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are necessary to thrive in our collaborative environment. Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, as well as CI/CD pipelines, is considered a plus. Experience with messaging systems like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or BullMQ, as well as caching solutions like Redis, will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Node.js and NestJS, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and maintainable. You will build and optimize MongoDB schemas and queries to support high-performance applications, ensuring data integrity and efficiency. Developing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture will be central to your role, enabling seamless integration with frontend systems and third-party services. You will implement system performance, security, and scalability best practices, including authentication and authorization protocols. Writing comprehensive unit and integration tests using frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Chai is essential to ensure code quality and reliability.
Collaboration is key; you will work closely with frontend teams, UI/UX designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Troubleshooting and resolving production issues promptly will be part of your daily responsibilities, along with maintaining clean, modular, and well-documented codebases. Staying updated with the latest backend technologies and frameworks to continuously improve system performance and security is expected. Additionally, you may be involved in implementing CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and managing messaging systems to support scalable and resilient backend infrastructure.
