Role Description
This is a full-time Backend Developer Intern role focused on Python, located on-site in Gurugram for a minimum of 3 months. As an intern, you will collaborate with a team to write clean, reusable code and develop scalable backend solutions. Day-to-day tasks will include implementing APIs, optimizing existing systems, and working with database architectures to ensure the effective integration of back-end components. Additional responsibilities include debugging, testing, and ensuring the security and performance of backend systems.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python
- Work with MongoDB for data modelling, queries, indexing, and aggregation pipelines
- Integrate third-party APIs and services, including AI/ML endpoints and cloud services
- Write clean, testable, well-documented code following team coding standards
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and QA to ship features end-to-end
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions
- Use AI-powered development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development velocity
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance and reliability
What we’re looking for
- Strong proficiency in Python (3.9+) — data structures, OOP, async programming
- Hands-on experience building REST APIs with Flask or FastAPI
- Working knowledge of MongoDB (CRUD, aggregation, schema design)
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows (branching, PRs, merges)
- Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar
- Understanding of API design principles - authentication, pagination, error handling, versioning
- Basic understanding of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or AI/ML concepts
- Currently pursuing or recently completed B.Tech / B.E. / MCA or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
