About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Freelance/Contract Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise-grade software applications that serve educational institutions and learners globally. Your primary focus will be on building scalable, reliable backend systems, optimizing application performance, and developing robust APIs and services that integrate seamlessly with front-end components and third-party systems.
The ideal candidate is passionate about modern software engineering practices, with a keen interest in leveraging the latest AI technologies, tools, and workflows to accelerate development cycles, improve code quality, and foster innovation. This is a hands-on engineering position suited for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, work independently, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including QA, DevOps, front-end developers, and product stakeholders. Qualifications
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a proven track record of delivering scalable and secure applications.
- Expertise in C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core, with a strong understanding of backend architecture and distributed systems.
- Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Proficiency with modern AI-assisted development tools and workflows to enhance productivity, code quality, and automation.
- Solid knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar, including query optimization and ORM implementations.
- Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, including deployment and management of cloud-native applications.
- Proficiency with Docker and containerized deployment practices, supporting scalable and portable application environments.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and best practices in software engineering.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills to effectively work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work efficiently in a freelance or contract capacity with minimal supervision and oversight.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications leveraging C# and .NET Core technologies.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs, backend services, and core business logic layers to support application functionalities.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, automate testing, and streamline code reviews and debugging processes.
- Develop and optimize database schemas, queries, and ORM implementations to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Enhance application performance, scalability, and maintainability through code optimization and architectural improvements.
- Collaborate closely with front-end developers to support seamless application integrations and data exchanges.
- Work with QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage, regression testing, and overall application quality.
- Leverage AI tools for debugging, testing automation, and accelerating development workflows.
- Assist in the integration of CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies following best practices.
- Participate in architectural discussions, technical planning, and decision-making processes.
- Document technical solutions, architectural decisions, and development standards using AI-enhanced documentation workflows where applicable.
- Identify potential technical risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Support cloud-native and containerized environments, including Docker and related technologies.
- Implement security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth and JWT to safeguard applications.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies, software engineering trends, and backend development best practices to continuously improve skills and project outcomes.
