About The Role
This is a contract-based, remote Back End Developer role. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining back-end services, APIs, and integrations that power the Path-iQ platform. The role involves implementing scalable and efficient software solutions, troubleshooting and debugging backend systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless functionality across the platform. You will work closely with data scientists, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to deliver optimized solutions that support our mission of transforming digital pathology. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development
- Strong expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Familiarity with Front-End Development to support seamless integration
- Experience in programming using modern languages and frameworks such as Python, Node.js, Java, or similar
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment
- Experience with cloud-based platforms and scalable architectures is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust back-end services and APIs to support the Path-iQ platform
- Implement scalable and secure software solutions aligned with project requirements
- Collaborate with front-end developers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions
- Troubleshoot and debug backend systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold high-quality standards
- Contribute to architectural decisions and suggest improvements for system scalability and efficiency
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate best practices into development processes
- Assist in deploying applications to cloud environments and managing infrastructure as code when necessary
