Backend Developer (AI Booking System)

Location: Remote / India

Salary Range: INR 30,000 - 60,000 per month

At Jungle, we’re reimagining how families discover and book activities, and we’re going AI-first from the ground up.

We’re looking for an Backend Developer who is hands-on, startup-savvy, and loves building fast, scalable, and intelligent systems. You’ll work directly with the founders to architect and ship our AI-powered booking engine and communication stack, helping families discover the right experiences and helping activity providers automate inquiries, bookings, and operations.

What You’ll Work On

• Architect and deploy scalable backend infrastructure on Google Cloud
• Build and manage PostgreSQL / Supabase / Firebase databases
• Design and optimize Node.js / Express APIs, with nginx for routing
• Build internal and external product features using React / Next.js
• Integrate vector embeddings and RAG pipelines for intelligent search, recommendations, and AI workflows
• Build and maintain AI-powered chat agents across web and WhatsApp
• Integrate and manage Chatwoot, Twilio, and WhatsApp APIs for merchant and customer communication flows
• Work on messaging orchestration, conversation routing, lead capture, automated replies, escalation logic, and agent handoff
• Help design tools for merchant onboarding, CRM workflows, booking automation, and conversational commerce
• Use Postman, VS Code, Cursor, and AI-assisted workflows to test, debug, and ship quickly
• Work closely with the founding team to hit ambitious product and launch milestones

Preferred Tech Stack

Cloud: Google Cloud

Database: PostgreSQL, Supabase, Firebase

Backend: Node.js, Express, nginx

Frontend: React, Next.js

Messaging / CX: Chatwoot, Twilio, WhatsApp API

Tools: Postman, Cursor, VS Code

AI / ML: Vector embeddings, RAG, OpenAI, LangChain familiarity is a strong plus

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of relevant experience in full stack or backend-heavy engineering roles
• Strong practical experience building APIs, backend systems, and database-driven products
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and external platforms reliably
• Familiarity with conversational products, chat systems, CRM workflows, or messaging automation is a big plus
• Comfortable working across frontend, backend, infra, and product logic in a fast-moving startup environment
• Strong debugging skills and ability to ship production-ready features with speed and care
