Job Description
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Backend Developer Intern (SDE) to join our team for a 6-month remote internship. The intern will be responsible for developing scalable server-side applications, building and maintaining APIs, and managing database systems to support real-world product development.
This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience in backend development using modern technologies, designing efficient system architectures, and working on production-level applications in a flexible remote environment.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- Prior experience in backend development is required
- Must be able to devote dedicated working time exclusively to this internship during the internship period
- Strong understanding of backend development concepts and server-side logic
- Proficiency in Node.js and backend frameworks (preferably Nest.js)
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of API development and RESTful services
- Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., JWT)
- Experience with database integration and schema design (TypeORM or similar ORM tools)
- Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code
- Basic understanding of version control systems like Git and platforms like GitHub
- Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup
- Willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
- Design and implement server-side logic using modern frameworks
- Build and integrate databases, ensuring proper maintenance and performance
- Write reusable, efficient, and testable code
- Perform unit testing and ensure code quality before deployment
- Collaborate with frontend developers for seamless API integration
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs
- Follow agile development methodologies and best coding practices
- Stay updated with the latest backend technologies and trends
