About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our fully remote team at Textellent, Inc. This role is pivotal in advancing our platform’s capabilities by developing scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies to build robust APIs and backend functionalities. A key aspect of this role involves utilizing AI-driven development tools to automate and optimize coding workflows, thereby accelerating our development cycle and enhancing product quality. As a Backend Developer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend developers, and data scientists, to deliver impactful features that meet our customers' evolving needs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess 4-7 years of professional experience in backend development, demonstrating a strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot frameworks. A solid understanding of SQL databases and experience deploying applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS)—including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, SNS, and SQS—is essential. Familiarity or keen interest in AI-based development tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or Lovable is highly desirable. Candidates should have prior experience working remotely and exhibit excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and adapting to a fast-paced environment is crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot frameworks to support our SMS marketing automation platform.
- Create and optimize relational databases with SQL to ensure data integrity and high performance.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure, utilizing services such as EC2, S3, RDS, SNS, and SQS to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines leveraging tools like GitHub and Jenkins to streamline development workflows.
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools into the coding process to enhance speed, accuracy, and efficiency in building and testing software components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, frontend developers, and data scientists to deliver high-quality, impactful features that align with business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of development practices and platform capabilities.
