Job Description
We are looking for a motivated Backend Engineer Intern to join our remote engineering team. The intern will assist in developing, testing, and maintaining server-side applications and APIs. This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world backend systems and collaborative work in a fast-growing startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs
- Design, implement, and optimize databases and data models
- Integrate third-party APIs and external services
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve backend issues
- Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of backend development concepts
- Experience with at least one backend technology (Node.js, Python, Java, etc.)
- Understanding of REST APIs and server-side architecture
- Familiarity with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
- Knowledge of Git or other version control systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science or a related field
