We are a startup building a B2B finance platform that helps businesses access financing and manage financial workflows. Join our core engineering team and work closely with technology and product leadership to build and operate the platform.
The role
You will own the transaction engine and ledger, write production code and guide backend engineering. Your focus will be correct financial records, reliable workflows and clear technical decisions.
What you will do
• Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build core finance modules covering various participants in a B2B system
• Design robust transaction state machines, APIs and database models.
• Implement idempotency, concurrency control, transaction integrity and auditability for critical financial operations.
• Develop double-entry ledger and reconciliation capabilities.
• Design integration-ready APIs using canonical domain models and adapter-based architecture, keeping the core independent of external providers.
• Conduct code reviews, establish engineering standards and mentor backend engineers.
• Work closely with Product, Architecture, QA, Frontend and DevOps teams to deliver the MVP within the 3-month timeline.
• Troubleshoot complex production-like transaction and integration issues.
What you bring
• 8+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot experience building and supporting production services.
• Strong understanding of microservices/modular architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational modelling, transactions and concurrency.
• Experience designing APIs, writing automated tests and diagnosing production incidents.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS and CI/CD.
• Ability to lead technical decisions while remaining actively involved in coding with code reviews.
• Clear communication and ownership of work from design through delivery.
