Role Overview
Trianz is building a next-generation AI-native enterprise platform as part of its broader agentic digital transformation vision. This is not a traditional backend engineering role focused on maintaining legacy systems — this is about architecting and building the backend foundation for a modern, conversational, AI-native application.
We’re looking for a founding-caliber Backend Engineer to help design and build the core web application backend powering this platform.
This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role. You will be an early member of a fast-moving organization working alongside senior AI engineers and product teams, building scalable backend systems integrated with cutting-edge AI capabilities.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys ownership, and wants to build modern backend systems from the ground up in a startup-style environment.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Architecture & API Development
- Define and implement the backend architecture for a modern AI-native web application
- Design and build scalable, enterprise-grade APIs
- Define and evolve application data models and backend service patterns
- Build backend systems supporting conversational and agentic application experiences
- Integrate backend services with proprietary AI pipelines and orchestration layers
Enterprise Application Engineering
- Build enterprise-ready backend systems supporting authentication, RBAC, SSO, feature flags, analytics, and scalability requirements
- Design scalable and maintainable database schemas and optimize backend performance
- Develop systems capable of supporting customer-hosted and enterprise deployment models
- Ensure backend systems meet enterprise security and compliance expectations
Product & Platform Integration
- Collaborate with AI and product engineering teams to integrate AI-driven functionality into application workflows
- Support reusable backend platform capabilities across the Concierto ecosystem
- Contribute to scalable product architecture decisions in a fast-evolving AI platform environment
Collaboration & Ownership
- Take end-to-end ownership of backend architecture and development
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering and product teams
- Drive rapid iteration and experimentation in a high-ownership environment
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience
- Minimum 2+ years working within product companies (not purely services environments)
- Experience building mature enterprise web applications at scale
- Strong ownership experience building and maintaining backend systems end-to-end
Backend & Platform Engineering
- Strong expertise with backend frameworks using Python or JavaScript ecosystems
- Strong API design and distributed systems understanding
- Deep SQL expertise including schema design, optimization, and performance tuning
- Experience designing scalable backend architectures and service integrations
- Strong understanding of enterprise application patterns and backend scalability
Enterprise Product Experience
- Experience building enterprise applications with requirements around RBAC, SSO, analytics, scalability, and feature management
- Experience supporting regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, cybersecurity, or government sectors
- Exposure to secure enterprise deployment patterns and compliance-aware application design
AI & Modern Application Exposure
- Experience integrating conversational AI, AI-native workflows, or agentic functionality into applications is highly preferred
- Familiarity with AI-native backend or full-stack frameworks is advantageous
- Exposure to self-deployable or customer-hosted application models is a plus
Technical Skills
- Strong programming expertise in Python, Node.js, TypeScript, or related backend technologies
- Strong understanding of scalable application architecture and modern API ecosystems
Mindset & Fit
