Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Back-end Engineer with strong experience in Java and/or Node.js to join our global engineering team. The ideal candidate brings solid engineering fundamentals, experience building scalable backend systems, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating across distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Java and/or Node.js.
- Build APIs using OpenAPI / spec-first design principles.
- Contribute to system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
- Develop and maintain production-ready systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.
- Debug and resolve production issues efficiently in an Agile environment.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams (product, frontend, DevOps).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and continuous delivery.
- Ensure high-quality code through reviews, testing, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in at least one of the following:
- Java
- Node.js
Solid understanding of:
- Software engineering fundamentals
- Data structures and algorithms
- System and API design
- Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs (OpenAPI preferred).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and production environments.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly for remote collaboration.
- Experience with at least one cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- High ownership mindset, strong commitment to deliveries, and reliability in honoring start dates.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with U.S. and/or global clients.
- Exposure to microservices architectures.
Hands-on experience with:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Containerization (Docker)
- Kubernetes (K8s)
- Experience working with distributed teams across time zones, especially India–North America overlap.
Experience building or working with:
- Connectors, agents, or integration platforms
- Data catalog, metadata management, or data lineage systems
- Familiarity with spec-first or design-first development approaches.
