Job Title: Azure SQL Database Administrator (Azure DBA)Experience: 4–5 Years
Location: Pan India
Job SummaryWe are hiring a mid-level Azure SQL Database Administrator with 4–5 years of experience in SQL Server and Azure cloud database environments. The candidate should have hands-on experience in database administration, Azure migration, and performance tuning, along with strong T-SQL skills.
Key Responsibilities1. Azure Database Administration- Manage and support Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure VMs
- Perform routine tasks like backups, restores, patching, and security management
- Ensure database availability, reliability, and performance
2. Database Migration- Assist in migrating on-premise SQL Server databases to Azure
- Validate data integrity and support post-migration activities
- Work on tools like Azure Database Migration Service (if applicable)
3. SQL Development & Optimization- Write and optimize complex SQL / T-SQL queries
- Support reporting and application teams with data requirements
- Troubleshoot slow queries and improve performance
4. Data Handling- Work on data modeling, mapping, validation, and cleansing
- Ensure high-quality, consistent, and accurate data
5. Azure Services & Integration- Use Azure services such as:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ETL processes
- Azure Monitor for tracking performance
- Azure Automation for scheduling jobs
6. Monitoring & Troubleshooting- Monitor database health using:
- Azure Monitor
- SQL Profiler
- Query Store
- Datadog (good to have)
- Identify issues and perform basic to intermediate performance tuning
Required Skills- 4–5 years of experience in:
- SQL Server Database Administration
- Azure SQL (Database / Managed Instance / VM)
- Strong knowledge of:
- SQL & T-SQL
- Query optimization and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience in:
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure monitoring tools
- Basic understanding of database migration to cloud
Mandatory Criteria- Must have Azure SQL DBA experience
- Profiles with DB2 LUW or other DBA backgrounds will not be considered
Good to Have- Exposure to Datadog or similar monitoring tools
- Azure certifications (like AZ-900 / DP-300)
- Understanding of cloud security best practices
