Job Title: Senior Azure Integration Developer (Night Shift)
Location: Remote – India (Must overlap with Mountain Standard Time)
Employment Type: Contract (W2)
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Azure Integration Developer to design, build, and maintain enterprise-scale data integration pipelines within Microsoft Azure. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on developing reliable data ingestion and transformation pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and operational insights.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage, along with a deep understanding of modern data lakehouse architectures.
This role requires working hours that overlap with Mountain Standard Time (MST).
Key Responsibilities
Data Integration & Pipeline Development
- Design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Integrate data from enterprise systems, APIs, and files into Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)
- Implement batch and near-real-time ingestion patterns
- Develop reusable and parameterized pipelines to onboard new data sources efficiently
Data Processing & Transformation
- Develop data transformations using Azure Databricks with Spark / PySpark
- Implement Delta Lake frameworks for reliable and scalable data processing
- Apply Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) for organizing datasets
- Prepare curated datasets for analytics platforms such as Power BI and Sigma
Platform Operations
- Support Dev, Test, and Production environment management
- Participate in CI/CD processes for deploying ADF pipelines and Databricks notebooks
- Assist with deployment validation, configuration updates, and rollback procedures
Monitoring & Production Support
- Monitor pipeline execution and troubleshoot failures
- Implement error handling, retries, and alerting mechanisms
- Ensure reliability, performance, and data quality across pipelines
Security & Governance
- Implement secure access using Managed Identities, Service Principals, Azure Key Vault, and RBAC
- Follow enterprise security and governance practices for cloud data platforms
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud data integration, or analytics platform development
- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipeline development and orchestration
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks (Spark / PySpark)
- Experience working with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
- Strong SQL skills for data transformation and analytics
- Working knowledge of Python for data engineering tasks
- Familiarity with Medallion / Lakehouse architecture
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with API-based data ingestion
- Exposure to data center operations or large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Power BI
- Azure certifications such as DP-203 are a plus
