Senior Azure FinOps Architect / SME with 12–15 years of experience in Azure Cloud, FinOps, cloud architecture and cost optimization.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on senior technical professional with strong experience in Azure architecture and FinOps, capable of working across cloud engineering, architecture, governance and cost optimization initiatives.
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Landing Zones and Terraform/IaC will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement Azure FinOps strategy, frameworks and best practices.
- Drive Azure cost optimization, governance, forecasting, budgeting and cost management.
- Analyze Azure consumption and identify opportunities for rightsizing, waste reduction and optimization.
- Implement cost allocation, tagging, chargeback/showback and cloud financial governance.
- Design and implement Azure Landing Zones for enterprise-scale environments.
- Work on Azure governance including Management Groups, Subscriptions, Azure Policy, RBAC and enterprise governance.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Automate cloud provisioning, governance and cost-management processes.
- Work closely with Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Finance and Business stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership and act as the Azure FinOps SME for architecture and optimization initiatives.
- Develop dashboards and reporting around cloud spend, utilization, forecasting and optimization.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve Azure cloud efficiency and overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Mentor technical teams and establish Azure FinOps and cloud governance best practices.
Mandatory Skills
- 12–15 years of overall IT experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong experience in Azure FinOps / Cloud Cost Optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Cost Management + Billing.
- Strong understanding of Azure governance and enterprise architecture.
- Experience with Azure Landing Zones.
- Strong understanding of Azure subscriptions, Management Groups, Azure Policy, RBAC and governance.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform / IaC.
- Proven experience working on large-scale Azure environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with Terraform-based Azure Landing Zone implementation.
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD experience.
- Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
- Azure Verified Modules (AVM).
- PowerShell / Azure CLI.
- Azure Monitor / Log Analytics.
- Power BI or other cloud cost dashboards and reporting tools.
- FinOps certification.
- Experience in enterprise financial services / insurance environments.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a senior, hands-on Azure FinOps Architect / SME, rather than someone focused only on FinOps reporting.
The candidate should have practical experience across:
Azure Architecture → Landing Zone → Governance → Terraform/IaC → FinOps → Cost Management → Optimization
