This on-site role hires an Azure Data Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and analytics platforms that power business insights and downstream ML services.
Primary Job Title: Azure Data Engineer
Role & Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse to ingest batch and streaming data.
- Develop and optimise PySpark jobs on Azure Databricks for data transformation, cleansing, and Delta Lake management.
- Ingest, curate, and manage raw and processed datasets in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 with partitioning and lifecycle policies.
- Author performant SQL queries, views, and stored procedures in Synapse SQL to support analytics and reporting workloads.
- Implement CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code for data platform deployments using Azure DevOps/GitHub and ARM/Terraform; maintain monitoring and alerting for pipeline health.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, BI engineers, and stakeholders to productionise data models, ensure data quality, and meet SLAs.
