About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at Tata Consultancy Services. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and solutions within the Azure cloud ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with expertise in Python, PySpark, and NoSQL databases like CosmosDB. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to deliver high-quality data solutions that support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 6 to 13 years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Proficiency in Python programming and data manipulation.
- Hands-on experience with PySpark for big data processing.
- Strong understanding of Azure cloud services and architecture.
- Experience with Databricks platform and Unity Catalog.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as CosmosDB and MongoDB.
- Basic understanding of data science methodologies and concepts is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Effective communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient data transformation pipelines using PySpark and Databricks.
- Manage and optimize large-scale datasets, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security.
- Implement complex data calculation logic, formulas, and aggregations to support analytical needs.
- Oversee the management and performance tuning of CosmosDB and other NoSQL databases.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate data pipelines with applications and services.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning to ensure best practices and high standards.
- Automate deployment, testing, and monitoring processes to enhance development efficiency and reliability.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve data solutions.
