About The Role
The Azure Data Engineer role at Tata Consultancy Services is a critical position responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions within the Azure cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable data pipelines, optimize data storage, and ensure the integrity and security of data assets. The Azure Data Engineer will play a vital role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, supporting business decision-making processes, and enabling digital innovation for our clients. Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering roles, particularly with cloud service and hosting solutions such as Azure PaaS platforms.
- Proficiency in implementing and managing OLTP, OLAP, and Data Warehouse technologies including Azure SQL, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Azure Data Lake Store.
- Hands-on experience with data movement, streaming, and transformation technologies like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Azure Stream Analytics, and SSIS runtime integration.
- Strong skills in data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau.
- Good understanding of IoT technologies, including IoT Hub, IoT Edge, and Event Grid.
- Familiarity with industry-standard data management and processing stacks such as Kafka, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Cassandra, and related technologies.
- Excellent coding skills in SQL, Python, and R, with the ability to develop efficient data processing scripts.
- Knowledge of SSIS catalog database and query optimization.
- Understanding of networking concepts, Windows virtual machines, containers, storage solutions, ELB, and autoscaling mechanisms.
- Awareness of cloud security controls, including tenant isolation, encryption at rest and in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, and application firewalls.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines utilizing Azure cloud services to support business analytics and reporting requirements.
- Implement data integration solutions, ensuring seamless data flow between various sources and destinations, including IoT devices and external data feeds.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency within the Azure environment.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and deploy data visualization dashboards using PowerBI and Tableau to facilitate data-driven decision making.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data pipelines, storage, and processing systems.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices, implementing necessary controls for data protection and privacy.
- Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance data architecture and workflows.
- Document technical specifications, procedures, and best practices for data engineering processes.
- Participate in risk assessments, issue resolution, and project planning activities to ensure successful project delivery.
