About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer to join our team at Tata Consultancy Services in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and storage solutions within the Azure cloud ecosystem. This role involves working closely with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage, enabling insightful analytics and data-driven decision-making. The Azure Data Engineer will be responsible for implementing best practices in data security, optimizing performance, and automating workflows to support the organization’s digital initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects leveraging the latest Azure services and contribute to the organization’s data modernization journey.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles is required, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience working specifically with Azure cloud services. Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala is essential. Candidates should have a strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or equivalent are highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment are crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to facilitate data ingestion, transformation, and movement from various sources to Azure storage systems.
- Implement and manage data storage solutions utilizing Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2) and Azure SQL Database, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Transform raw data into structured formats suitable for analytical processing, employing tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Databricks.
- Integrate and configure Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Stream Analytics, and Azure Data Factory to support real-time and batch data processing needs.
- Implement data security measures including encryption, role-based access control (RBAC), and compliance monitoring to safeguard sensitive information.
- Automate data workflows and optimize the performance of data pipelines and queries to ensure high efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Maintain documentation of data architecture, pipelines, and security protocols for compliance and knowledge sharing.
