About The Role
The Sr Azure Data Engineer at TCS will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions on the Azure cloud platform. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to create robust data pipelines and storage solutions that facilitate insightful data analysis and decision-making. Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data engineering, with substantial exposure to Azure cloud technologies. A comprehensive understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes is essential. Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Synapse Analytics is required. Candidates should also have hands-on experience with API integrations, including RESTful services, JSON, and OAuth protocols. Strong skills in SQL, Python, or PowerShell for data manipulation and automation are necessary. Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform, is highly desirable. The candidate must have completed at least 15 years of full-time education, aligning with the minimum qualification standards for this role.
Responsibilities
The Sr Azure Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory to facilitate seamless data integration and transformation. They will develop and manage data storage solutions leveraging Azure Blob Storage, Data Lake, and Azure SQL Database, ensuring secure and scalable data repositories. The role involves integrating various external and internal APIs for data ingestion, enabling real-time and batch data processing. Building and optimizing data models and data warehouses using Azure Synapse Analytics will be a core aspect of the role, supporting advanced analytics and reporting needs.
Monitoring and troubleshooting data workflows to ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity will be critical. The engineer will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Implementing data governance, security, and compliance best practices across Azure services is a key responsibility to maintain data privacy and regulatory adherence. Additionally, the role involves automating data workflows and supporting CI/CD practices to streamline deployment and updates of data engineering solutions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
